Dedicated to My Sister

"Carry each other's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ." (Galatians 6:2)

Today, my blog note is a poem dedicated to my sister. Sometimes, we must stop and look at the people we have in our lives and often you begin to see that the walls they have built around them are also crumbling. We often get so consumed with the pain in our own existence that we forget to look around us. Jesus teaches us to love as God is love and for me that has meant turning to the people in my life and truly appreciating them. We can live from love, but it does mean that sometimes, we just have to stretch out that hand or ear even when we feel we have nothing to give. You never know how much help that will give to someone.

My Angel....

Watch out my angel, your closer than you feel
Those nightmares in your head, don’t have to be real
Watch out and don't be afraid, you need to believe
Everything you thought was bad, it was just the way you perceived

Inside of you, burns a flame so strong
Don't let fear make that passion feel wrong
Don't be disheartened when challenge comes your way
You can stand up and rule over it today

You are so beautiful, if you would just see
How very special your love is to me
I will give you my eyes so you can see no pain
You don’t deserve to ever hurt again

Keep your head up high, you will get through
Keep your heart in place, you know what’s true
Don't be afraid when the darkness wants to come
Its a true test of your faith, it happens to everyone

Raise that beautiful face, so I can wipe the tears from your eyes
That hard exterior is just a disguise
You just need to understand you have so much more to give
Please understand, how much you help me to live

We are together, us against the world
I am your sister and you are my girl
You are everything that I'd ever want you to be
More than that, your a saviour to me

So please don't ever feel like you can't go on
When your feeling weak, I'll be the one who's strong
We'll always have each other, so I know we'll get through
You really are an angel and I dearly love you.
